As Maid of Honor I had the distinguished responsibility of hosting Jighna’s Shower. Being that she went to school in Boston, lives in Portland Oregon and her fiance is from San Fran her family and friends were coming from all over the country. I decided to do it a couple days before the wedding so that everyone to could make it to the shower/BBQ. I set the theme to be “Spice up your night” and we grilled Tandoori Chicken, Green Chili Shrimp Skewers, 3 Pepper Quesadillas (using the amazing Williams Sonoma Quesadilla Grill Basket), Grilled Corn, and Grilled Cassava. Being that I’m a Chef, with the assitance of my Husband we decided to man the grill for 45 people! Not an easy task!! As much work as it was, it payed off. The scenic Mt. Hood as our backdrop, the fresh Oregon air, my closest family and Friends, oh and the smell of the grill cooking the Tandoori Chicken made for an extremely memorable night.
THe bride to be with her Maids of Honor.

My centerpieces which consisted of various hot sauces, green chili chutney, and pickled jalepenos. Chalkboard signs with quotes like “Is it me or is it hot in here?”

Wood carved sign made by cousin Reha to incorporate the natural rustic feel of Oregon.

My uncle Yogi making his famous “Yogitos” 🙂

My custom made Spice Rubs as the favor for the night. A spicy crushed red pepper salt with Ghost Chilis called “Too hot to handle” and a Mexican seasoning called “Mexican Mojo”

Lastly Jighna and Sarthak, the couple of the night, enjoying their shower! Love you both and am so happy for you!
