I’m Rupali, the chef behind this blog. Since I joined the culinary industry 8 years ago, I’m passionate about bringing you food without the frills. You don’t need 17 knives. You don’t need a sous vide machine, (although it is super easy to cook with one!). And you don’t need (or probably want) some bull shit story about how my grandma taught me how to make “curry,” (rolling my eyes).
My personal stats? I graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2013 with a certificate in Culinary Arts. I also have a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University (but lets be honest, being a Chef is way more exciting). After graduating, I worked at a handful of interesting places – Everyday with Rachel Ray, Annisa with Chef Anita Lo, L2O with Chef Matthew Kirkley and Lettuce Entertain You, Moghul Caterers and co-founded Elevate, with a my most recent position as Director of Catering for Constellation Culinary.
When not cooking, I’m probably running after my son, teaching my 10 year old dog new tricks or bickering with my husband. Recently relocating from NYC, I currently live in Chicago with hopes of escaping to beautiful, Barcelona (my favorite city in the world).
